Richard Loncraine / Warner Bros.
After our successful collaboration on the 2004 film Wimbledon, Richard Loncraine came to Prologue for work on his follow-up, Firewall. We designed the animation and typography for the main title sequence. Firewall is the story of a man who discovers he has been under surveillance for months by a ruthless computer hacker who seizes his family and holds them for ransom. Our opening overlays a typeface, colored and animated to resemble a classic-style coding font, upon treated footage of Ford’s character with his family and in the workplace. The text animates within vertical bars on the screen, conveying in metaphor the trap in which the protagonist finds himself, while visually implying the piecing together of shredded documents.
