Joel Silver / Warner Brothers
END TITLE | LOGO | MAIN TITLE
In the holiday film Fred Claus, Joel Silver wanted Prologue to help spread some Christmas spirit through some cheerfully designed titles and VFX. The film opens with the specialty logos Prologue created for Warner Bros. and Silver Pictures draped in snow and Christmas lights, as audio of sleigh bells carry on in the background. After which, roughly eight and a half minutes of the film’s backstory is played out in live-action. The main title, featured in bright red block typography, is displayed as Vince Vaughn’s character, Fred, knocks over a Santa figurine, in a show of defiance to his brother St. Nick. At the close of the film, the end credits are seen dropping in from the top of the frame, in colorful block typography that suggests they are covered in holiday wrapping paper, along with objects as tree ornaments, candles, and stockings hanging off the end of every other word.
