SHANE BLACK & JOEL SILVER / WARNER BROTHERS
LOGOS | MAIN TITLE | VFX
To bring the alternately hilarious and disturbing first few minutes of The Nice Guys to life, Prologue carefully selected a combination of period-appropriate fonts and colors to conjure the spirit of 1977 Los Angeles. We created a funky palette to both match and enhance the sequence’s mood without distracting from the action. Like the film, we strived to explore the glitzy boldness of the era, not satirize it. In addition to the opening title sequence, Prologue also helped create multiple snippets of faux-70s film that appear throughout the movie and drafted groovy takes on production company logos.
